Probate Court Mediation Form
Thank you for responding to your Probate Court letter referring your case to mediation. The Mediation Center provides different solutions to conduct your mediation using Zoom, by telephone, or in person. Our Center provides a qualified volunteer neutral using a facilitative mediation process to assist all participants in reaching a resolution on all issues. Due to the large volume of cases requiring mediation, our standard procedure is to mediate cases virtually using Zoom. In-person mediation sessions can be scheduled at the request of all participants.
Fees for Probate Court Mediations
There is no mediation fee for Probate Court cases referred through the Eastern Judicial Circuit of Georgia. Our Center reserves the right to charge a $75.00 Late Cancellation/No Show Fee to any participant who fails to provide notice of cancellation or request to reschedule within two business days prior to their mediation date. Participants who fail to appear for their scheduled mediation will also be assessed a $75.00 fee.
Important Details Regarding Virtual Mediation Sessions
- Our Center uses Zoom for all virtual mediation sessions. Zoom works best on a computer, and we strongly encourage you to access a computer for the mediation.
- If you will be using a tablet or phone, make sure you have the device plugged in as Zoom will quickly use your battery.
- When you connect to Zoom you’re in a “waiting room”. Once the mediator is ready, you will join the virtual mediation room.
- Zoom has the capability of virtual breakout rooms; the mediator has the ability to place you in separate “rooms” to talk to you individually.
- You will receive another email from us with the Mediation Guidelines from Adobe Sign. Please read and sign electronically. The mediator is required to review the guidelines with everyone before the mediation begins and will answer questions at that time.

- Join the phone/video conference at least 5 minutes before the mediation time.
- Avoid performing other tasks and talking to people in your environment during your video conferencing session.
