De-escalation Training

De-escalation skills keep citizens and professionals safe. Mastering these skills can also create opportunities for connection and resolution that would otherwise be impossible. We hope to equip as much of our community as possible with the skills to de-escalate conflict.  In a professional setting, embittered customers can become loyal patrons. In a service setting, the worst moment of someone’s life can be turned to give them some control of their circumstances. In personal settings, volatile interactions can ease into transformative discourse. All of these are possible while making sure that everyone involved stays safe.

Benefits & Outcomes

Our vision is that by the end of the training, you will have increased your knowledge and built upon your skills to de-escalate conflict at work, at home, and out in the community. Our objectives for this training will be to learn:

  • create a calm environment
  • situational awareness
  • how to recognize needs and paths forward
  • safety planning
