Community Conversation at The Fellowship Hall

What is the purpose behind the Community Conversation?

A space where concerned community members surrounding Islands High School and Coastal Middle School come together to create a space for students and local businesses to share how they’ve been affected during the afterschool hours; a time when students are released from school and enter local businesses

Who do we want to participate?

We are inviting students, parents, and a number of community members to attend the conversation. This is a safe space and we need to have the voice of the students in the conversation and encourage your participation as their parent/caregiver.

How does the conversation work?

All the participants will sit in a circle. It is important for everyone’s voice to be heard so we can learn how others are affected after school hours. The facilitator will ask each person to speak to ensure everyone has an opportunity to share. We will then transition into learning about the needs of each other and then into sharing ideas on how to create a healthier after-school environment that meets the needs of students and businesses.

What date, location, and time will this conversation be held?

Date: Monday, December 12, 5:30-7:30 pm
Location: The Fellowship Hall @ Islands Christian Church
Address: 4601 US-80, Savannah, GA 31410
